This might take awhile and it's probaly not very interesting but I thought that maybe from inside the fence of your wood house make a tunnel that goes underground (Small) and then ends up at the cave under the floating house. You then can seal the entrance. No Monsters in the cave and you can get from house to house at night without the fear of running into heaps of monsters. Hope you like the idea.
